It’s hard to feel anything but sorry for West Ham fans when the transfer window rears its head every summer. For far too long it seems like the club have failed to unearth a talent in the transfer market, with the exception of Dimitri Payet of course.
Now, it seems as though the same narrative could be playing out once again, as the club are desperately in the hunt to find a striker or two to lift them further up the Premier League table.
However, during an interview with talkSPORT, Hammers co-owner David Gold worryingly claimed that the club need to find money to buy a pair of new frontmen;
“It’s clear to most fans that we are desperate for centre-forwards. Andy Carroll is injury-prone as we know, we have had an injury problem with [Diafra] Sakho and we have just got to bring in centre-forwards. We have got to find the money. Without strikers, you struggle in the Premier League. You struggle in any division because strikers are your key players.“
