The Portuguese coach is set to formally take charge of United on November 11. Last week, the club announced him as their next head coach following Erik ten Hag's departure from Old Trafford. In the meantime, Ten Hag's assistant, Van Nistelrooy, is managing the team as their interim coach.

Under Van Nistelrooy's tutelage, the Red Devils won their Carabao Cup clash against Leicester City 5-2 but were held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday at home. After the clash with the Blues, the Dutchman expressed his desire to stay back and work under Amorim, however, former England and United forward Sheringham believes that it is unlikely that the 39-year-old will keep him on.
WHAT TEDDY SHERINGHAM SAID
Speaking to Flashscore, Sheringham said: "It wouldn’t be a mistake for Ruben Amorim to part ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy. Most managers come in with their staff behind them and with his stock so high he will be able to make his own demands. If he doesn't know Ruud and doesn't know his personality then he won’t have his back. I think when new managers come in it’s time for a fresh start and you don’t want any confusion as to what was at the club before."
