Manchester United should sign Hoffenheim star Joelinton to sort out their issues on the right wing, and hopefully offer them a different dimension to what has been a stagnating attack.
What’s the word, then?
Well, it wouldn’t be fair to say that the Red Devils’ issues on the right flank are the main source of their problems – they have a lot more to worry about than that. However, it is still an issue that needs sorting.
Not many people, namely Ed Woodward, wouldn’t really want to trust Jose Mourinho to spend some money on attempting to sort the issue – he’d probably just argue that he has Ashley Young to play there.
However, the crux of the matter is that they have Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez, who both like to play on the left, and Marcus Rashford, who prefers to play centrally. Any player who is put on the right looks uncomfortable and shoehorned in there.
It would take more than a mere mortal to resurrect this Man United side at the moment, but there’s one man who would be a good investment and is having a particularly eye-catching season…
Who should they get in?
One of the Bundesliga side’s star men, alongside Reiss Nelson and Andrej Kramaric, is the Brazilian forward Joelinton. The 22-year-old has scored eight goals and recorded five assists already this season, whilst he has particularly caught the eye in the Champions League.

He is a strong contributor defensively and has a tiresome work-rate, something which will appeal to Mourinho. Additionally, his positioning is more that of an inverted forward rather than an out-and-out winger, which suits him to the way that this current United side play as they opt for a narrow approach.
Having spent millions on out of date players such as Nemanja Matic and Sanchez, it really is time for the Red Devils to invest in younger stars such as Joelinton with the ceiling to improve.
