Just days after sacking Thomas Christiansen, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani spoke candidly to the media, admitting that the appointment was a “mistake”.
In an in-depth interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Radrizzani spoke openly about the decision to hire and subsequently fire Christiansen, who left Leeds in 10th place in the Championship table;
“Anything that doesn’t work is a mistake so yes, I did make a mistake. I apologise to the fans and the club, and for my experience I need to learn and analyse better my choice before making it. I waited for a long time before taking the decision and gave him many chances. Already at the beginning of January, I was really keen to change. In the end, something was missing.”
This misguided attempt to quell the concern among Leeds fans seems to have backfired, with supporters taking to Twitter to slate the harsh words that Radrizzani aimed at Christiansen;
