Max Meyer was a surprise summer signing by Crystal Palace as the midfielder had been linked to elite Premier League clubs.
The 22-year-old became available on a free transfer after opting against penning a new contract at Schalke, where he had spent the past five years.
Palace are only two league games into their campaign, but manager Roy Hodgson has decided to be patient with regards to Meyer’s involvement.

The German did not make the bench for Palace’s opening 2-0 victory over Fulham, but he made a brief cameo against Liverpool in the subsequent fixture.
The Eagles were on the losing end of a 2-0 scoreline at Selhurst Park, and Meyer entered the field of play as an 83rd-minute substitute.
Plenty of Palace fans are excited to see what the young talent can offer, but they have been left angered by Hodgson’s decision not to start him against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.
