Glasgow Rangers will be hoping to make it two wins from two under new manager Michael Beale with victory in their latest Premiership clash tonight.
The Ibrox giants travel to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen off the back of a 3-2 win at home to Hibernian in their previous league outing five days ago.
That barnstorming affair at Ibrox saw the Light Blues twice come from behind to clinch all three points, with Alfredo Morelos getting himself on the scoresheet for just the fourth time this season to secure the win.
Looking ahead to tonight’s encounter against Jim Goodwin’s Dons, here’s how Football FanCast predicts Rangers to line up…
Beale will once again have to make do without a host of key players, including the likes of Antonio Colak, Borna Barisic and Ianis Hagi. However, in more encouraging news, the centre-back pair of Connor Goldson and Leon King are set to be available once again.
As such, we predict that the former Queens Park Rangers boss will make two changes from the side which overcame Hibs last time out.
Veteran goalkeeper Allan McGregor is set to keep his place between the sticks, while the aforementioned duo of teenage gem King and £37k-per-week ace Goldson – who has been dubbed a “leader” by former Ibrox defender Alan Hutton – should return at the heart of the backline.
That will see makeshift option John Lundstram – who had a “shocker” on Thursday night, according to journalist Josh Bunting – make way. Meanwhile, 6 foot 2 dud James Sands should also be resigned to the substitutes’ bench having been a consistent “problem” in the centre of defence, in the words of Gers legend Mark Hateley.
The absences of Barisic and summer signing Ridvan Yilmaz should see Adam Devine keep his place at left-back, with captain James Tavernier on the opposite flank, while the experienced duo of Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent will likely remain in midfield.
Ahead of that solid duo, 20-year-old Malik Tillman should keep his place in the playmaking berth after his starring role last time out – having registered four key passes against Hibs – with the USA international set to be flanked by Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala.
That will see Morelos – whose existing contract is set to expire this summer – retain his place through the middle of attack, with the Colombian having been the hero last Thursday.
