France-born Cameroon international Mbeumo was just four years of age when Portuguese superstar Ronaldo first signed for the Red Devils in 2003. He quickly set about becoming a global icon during a Ballon d’Or and Champions League-winning spell at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo captured the imagination of supporters around the world, and is still going strong at 40 years of age with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He continues to be a source of inspiration to millions.

Mbeumo looked up to CR7 when forging his career and has told United’s after making his own £71 million ($96m) transfer to the Theatre of Dreams: “My first top was Manchester United’s top with Ronaldo behind. It’s just such a big club and I’m really happy to be here.”

United saw patience rewarded when securing Mbeumo’s signature, with a protracted transfer saga eventually seeing a big-money deal struck with Brentford. The 25-year-old added on making a huge career move: “From the start, I wanted to join this massive club. Now I’m here, I’m just really happy. For me, it’s the biggest club in the world. The fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and every player wants to play here.”
