Wrexham are one of four clubs eager to sign Charlie Savage, son of former Manchester United midfielder Robbie, in the summer transfer window. Tom Brady's Birmingham City are also in the mix along with Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth, according to Wales Online. Savage is expected to cost over £2 million ($2.7m), more than Wrexham's current club record signing Sam Smith.

Wrexham will hope they can tempt Savage to Wales and may be helped by the fact his famous father was born and raised in the area. Phil Parkinson's side are aiming to strengthen their squad after winning promotion to the Championship, with Ryan Reynolds having already admitted Wrexham are willing to be "as aggressive as we can be" in the transfer market this summer.
